Who we are
We are Emma and Mounir. We founded Portia AI in June 2024 with the objective of making it dead simple for developers to add secure and accurate tool calling to their AI deployments. We bring a wealth of experience, having both led high performance teams to launch B2C and B2B products at the largest global tech companies including Amazon, Google and Stripe.

Why “Portia”
Portia is our favourite protagonist from Adrian Tchaikovsky's "Children of Time," which is also one of our mutual top 3 sci-fi novels! Part of a rapidly evolving spider species “Portia Labiata” seeded by humans on a terraformed alien world, Portia drives her civilisation forward through social and technological leaps with incredible resilience, and builds bridges with other species including humans to forge a shared and harmonious future together.
We want Portia to be exactly this: resilient in the face of a rapidly shifting AI landscape and a connector between the different players in the space.
